It's as if the big bad guy was criticizing the lesser bad guy's taste in wallpaper. Imagine you were a bad guy meeting an even more dangerous bad guy in your home, and your contact reveals that the place is bugged. People don't react the way you might expect. Cooper made his name in stage adaptations such as The History Boys and Mamma Mia and is now on AMC's Preacher, but nothing about his physicality or demeanor here says "highly trained military operative." Other than that, Stratton runs around unconvincingly firing weapons and not calling for backup. There's very little actual "character" to Stratton himself: He walks around looking serious, and we're told he's "a highly effective operative have a reputation for respecting authority or the chain of command." (Yes, it's that kind of script.) We also meet Stratton's father figure, a straight-up squandered Derek Jacobi playing a fisherman who apparently only exists on his boat. But the movie feels rooted in nothing but other similarly themed films. Most Americans have likely never heard of the "John Stratton" novels, but they supposedly offer grittier, more realistic special-operative fiction than, say, James Bond. It's hard to imagine how this unimpressive action film would have been greenlit if it hadn't been based on a book series.

Many point to the opening scene of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" where George Lazenby as Bond says, as a girl runs away from him, "This never happened to the other fellow," but that was intended as a one-off joke to the audience about how it was a new actor in the role. It is never explicitly stated or even implied in the films that "James Bond" is a code name, and there is little to nothing in the films to indicate the code name idea is valid. However, there is not in the novels at all, which are about an agent whose real name is James Bond. Some have even claimed that this is an idea from the novels. Over the years, some fans have come up with the idea that there is no one "James Bond," that it's merely a code name assigned to a series of agents, as a way of explaining why Bond never seems to age and has continued for nearly half a century. We informed front desk and they apologized and said they would order them - an hour later still no towels and my spouse had to go to room to get a towel. Weather was far from ideal but we went to the pool one afternoon and while it was open, no pool towels were set out. The hotel staff could not figure out why we had this problem. Finally we had to log in and select the premier internet at $10 per day but did get a credit. However after that we got message that we had exceeded our device limit even though we had not. A few examples - the first night 5he Wi-Fi in room worked great for the 2 device limit. The hotel is nicely located and the staff was friendly - one front desk person went out of her way to be helpful but follow thru by others was poor. We spent three nights in October and came away disappointed.

There was much to do for both child and parent. How has Foxwoods changed in those intervening two decades? I’m happy to report it is indeed as advertised. After perusing the Foxwoods website and all the children’s activities listed, I thought this could be the kind of quick getaway we all needed. Now, approaching 50 with two tweener sons in tow, my thoughts were less about clubbing and card sharping and more about how to keep rambunctious boys occupied over a long, winter break. I was vaguely aware the casino had grown into a resort in the coming years, with hotels, a golf course, concerts, and boxing, but in the intervening two decades I’d been to Las Vegas, 3,000 miles away, more than the 100 mile scamper to Southeastern Connecticut. After a few hours gambling, we returned to Boston, greeted by the rising sun and ready to sleep into the afternoon.Īs for Foxwoods itself, I remember a parking garage, the casino floor, and little else-not even if I won or lost (probably lost). I left with a friend at around midnight and arrived at the casino in 90 minutes. It was a late night trip from Boston, the kind which young, single men embark upon because they can. The last time I visited Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut was about 20 years ago. The P-90 pickups give the Casino a classic, punchy sound that is perfect for blues, rock, and jazz styles. The Casino comes equipped with a pair of vintage-voiced P-90 single-coil pickups, while the Dot has two Alnico Classic humbucking pickups. The next difference between the Casino and Dot is the pickups. If you are looking for a more portable guitar, the Dot might be a better option. This makes the Dot a more comfortable instrument to play, especially for smaller players. One important thing to note is that the Casino has a significantly larger body compared to the Dot. Both guitars are great for a variety of styles, but the body type changes the tonal characteristics that they offer. In terms of sound, this means the Casino has a full, warm, and resonant sound, while the Dot has a brighter and more focused sound. The Casino is an archtop hollowbody electric guitar, while the Dot is a semi-hollowbody electric guitar. The first difference between the Casino and Dot is the body type.
